Government Engineering College at Nilokheri has been established by Government of Haryana in year 2016 after taking approval from AICTE on 30.4.2016. The first academic session has been start from 16th August, 2016. The institute is situated in Nilokheri Tehsil of KarnalDistrict and is well connected by road and rail. It is 143 Kms from National Capital New Delhi and 107 Kms from state capital Chandigarh. It is also well connected to many nearby states like Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Utrakhand. The institute has been established with an aim to deliver quality technical education to the deserving candidates. It also aims at development of overall personality of Engineers who would be competent to work in the MNCs at National & International level and can emerge as leaders in a range of professions. The Government of Haryana is also intended to develop this institute as a Center of excellence for Technical Education, higher studies and research.

Hostel
State Institute of Engineering and Technology has hostels that are separated into blocks for the boys and girls on the campus. State Institute of Engineering and Technology hostel facilities have well-furnished rooms equipped with basic facilities.
Medical/Hospital
State Institute of Engineering and Technology facilities include the medical room. The medical room is equipped with all necessary medical equipment. A doctor is available 24 hours and ambulances are also present for any emergencies.

The college has a gym facility. On campus Gymnasium equipped with the most modern fitness machines provide a perfect opportunity for both girls and boys for their regular workouts and enhance their fitness level.

State Institute of Engineering and Technology library has a Large number of books, journals, and publications. There are separate sections that are present in the library like the reference section, circulation section, audio-visual section, digital library section, etc.
