Golaghat Polytechnic Overview

Golaghat Polytechnic is one of the Eleven Polytechnics established by the Government of Assam in 2017 under the Directorate of Technical Education. The institute offers three years diploma programme in three branches of Engineering- Mechanical, Civil and Biomedical with an intake capacity of 60 (sixty) students in each branch totaling upto 180 (one eighty). The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the State Council of Technical Education (SCTE), Assam. Admission to this diploma Engineering course is based on the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the institute is located among lush greenery in the Ulutoli area of Furkating, Golaghat district. It is around 2 km away from Furkating Chariali, nearly 2.5 km from the nearest Furkating railway station and approx. 50 km from Rowriah Airport, Jorhat. The institute covers an area of 5.95 acres. The institute includes Administrative and Academic infrastructure comprising well-lit Classrooms, Laboratories, Computer Center, Workshops, Library, Seminar Hall, Playground, etc.

Facilities of Golaghat Polytechnic

Hostel

Golaghat Polytechnic has hostels that are separated into blocks for the boys and girls on the campus. Golaghat Polytechnic hostel facilities have well-furnished rooms equipped with basic facilities.

Medical/Hospital

Golaghat Polytechnic facilities include the medical room. The medical room is equipped with all necessary medical equipment. A doctor is available 24 hours and ambulances are also present for any emergencies.

Gym

The college has a gym facility. On campus Gymnasium equipped with the most modern fitness machines provide a perfect opportunity for both girls and boys for their regular workouts and enhance their fitness level. 

Library

Golaghat Polytechnic library has a Large number of books, journals, and publications. There are separate sections that are present in the library like the reference section, circulation section, audio-visual section, digital library section, etc.

Sports

Golaghat Polytechnic facilities include indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Indoor games like carrom, chess, table tennis, pool, etc are made available to the students. Outdoor sports facilities are also available for games like cricket, tennis, basketball, volleyball and many more.
