Government polytechnic balod was established in year 2017 with intake of 180 students in the three diploma engineering disciplines of Civil, Electrical, Mining & Mine Surveying in the campus of mentor institute B.R.P Govt. Polytechnic Dhamtari.

later on the institute got it's permanent premises at village - Dudhali in district - Balod and shifted on 1st July 2022. The institute have sufficient space at it's permanent premise's. The institute is at approx. 10 Km away from Balod city and located at Balod- Lohara Road .

The placement Cell of Government Polytechnic, Balod has been successfully providing employment opportunities to our students with proper guidance and we are acting as a gateway to the corporate world. All the Placement associated activities are handled by the Training and Placement Cell (T&P Cell) of the institute. The T&P consists of Internship Cell, Entrepreneurial Cell, T&P Officer, Faculty Members, student volunteers working round the clock to provide the best possible services to the visiting organizations
