Sonitpur Polytechnic Overview

Sonitpur Polytechnic, a Govt. Polytechnic belongs to an area under the administrative control of Sonitpur district in the state of Assam in India. It is situated at Thelamara, 1 Km north to the NH -15, 22km West to Tezpur town and 10km East to Dhekiajuli surrounded by the lush greenery of the nature. The Polytechnic runs 3 year Diploma Courses in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with an intake capacity of 60 per department.

Sonitpur Polytechnic is affiliated to the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Assam. The SCTE, Assam is a Council of members appointed by the Government of Assam to advise the Government in all matters relating to Technical Education in the State.

The Polytechnic obtained Letter of Approval (LoA) from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) on 30th April, 2017 and started its academic activities from August, 2017. Till date one batch of students have passed out from Sonitpur Polytechnic with flying colours.

Facilities of Sonitpur Polytechnic

Hostel

Sonitpur Polytechnic has hostels that are separated into blocks for the boys and girls on the campus. Sonitpur Polytechnic hostel facilities have well-furnished rooms equipped with basic facilities.

Medical/Hospital

Sonitpur Polytechnic facilities include the medical room. The medical room is equipped with all necessary medical equipment. A doctor is available 24 hours and ambulances are also present for any emergencies.

Gym

The college has a gym facility. On campus Gymnasium equipped with the most modern fitness machines provide a perfect opportunity for both girls and boys for their regular workouts and enhance their fitness level. 

Library

Sonitpur Polytechnic library has a Large number of books, journals, and publications. There are separate sections that are present in the library like the reference section, circulation section, audio-visual section, digital library section, etc.

Sports

Sonitpur Polytechnic facilities include indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Indoor games like carrom, chess, table tennis, pool, etc are made available to the students. Outdoor sports facilities are also available for games like cricket, tennis, basketball, volleyball and many more.
