Delhi Teachers University was established through the Delhi Teachers University Act, 2022 (Delhi Act 02 of 2022), on 26 January 2022. The University is dedicated to evolve efficiently in both Pre-service and In-service stages across the school levels in areas of Educational studies, Leadership and Policy.
Delhi Teachers University (DTU) established and incorporated as a Teaching University focuses on promoting professional preparation of Pre-service and In-service Teachers, Research in Education and Extension activities in the field of school education.
The University shall be engaged in teaching and research in emerging areas of Teacher Education with focus on promoting multidisciplinary teaching and research to achieve Excellence in Teacher Education, School Education, and connected fields.
It will work towards bridging the gap between Practice, Research and Policy in teacher preparation while constantly engaging with the dynamic concept and realities of quality in educationacross India. The University will consider its mission to address the issues of quality and equity in Teacher Education and prepare professional teachers and educators that are motivated, sensitive, knowledgeable and skilled.
