Aurora Engineering College About

Aurora's Engineering College is the first engineering college established by Aurora Educational Society in the year 1998 with the aim to provide quality undergraduate and postgraduate engineering education in the state of Telangana. Equipped with the facilities of International Standard and the faculty with unshakable commitment to provide quality education, the college has been marching forward to set new standards in the field of engineering education. The college presently offers six courses under the B.Tech Programme. The college is located on the outskirts of Bhuvanagiri, a town on Hyderabad-Warangal high-way in a sprawling green landscape of about 600 acres of land surrounded by hills in very picturesque settings. Bhuvanagiri can be reached either by road or rail. The nearest Railway station is Bhongir about 50 kms from Secunderabad railway station. The campus is in proximity to the divine shrine of Lord Lakshmi NarasimhaSwamy of Yadagirigutta.

Library

The Library supports the teaching and research programmes of the Institute and provides facilities for general reading and disseminates information according to the requirement of the users. The Library follows Open Access System for benefit of users and with the area of 675 sq.mtrs. It has around 45000 books, back volumes, standards, CD-ROMS, NPTEL DVD's and ebooks etc. it receives 200 Journals, (125 Indian and 75 foreign). It also receives above 2000 on-line journals through by DELNET.

Transport Facilities

For the transportation of the students and staff the college provides buses, plying through every nook and corner of Hyderabad city and its suburbs. Apart from this the college is also operating buses to the nearby villages like Mothkur, Lothkunta, and Janagoan for the comfort of the students who hail from the neighboring villages. The bus routes are operated according to the needs of the students. All students coming from Hyderabad and its surrounding areas are advised to use of the college transport only as private vehicles like two-wheelers autos and cars are generally discouraged in order to prevent accidents and late-comers to college.

Canteen

The college canteen has a homely feel in its ambience and serves delicious food fresh with a rotating menu. Having good food on the campus is always a satisfying experience to the students. The canteen provides a balanced and nutritious food service at a reasonable cost with high standards of hygienic preparation, storage and serving of food. The canteen committee monitors the issues related to canteen at regular intervals and makes sure that the canteen serves good quality food, maintaining the prescribed standards.

Hostel

We at AEC provide you a decent stay and the best possible learning environment in Bhongir town at very affordable cost of living. Transport facility is available to the students from the hostel to college. The stay at the hostels that have a tie up with the college would certainly provide a wealth of experience by developing qualities such as comradeship and social responsibility. The student-friendly system helps the students feel at home by providing a friendly, comfortable, well furnished and secure ambiance. Apart from that the hostel also provides a healthy competitive and diverse cultural learning environment and, inculcates discipline making students more systematic and strategic.

Sports and Games

Sports and Physical Education play a vital role in achieving the aims and objectives of education. The students of Aurora Engineering College are provided with excellent sports facilities and encouraged to take part in the tournaments held in and around JNTU, Hyderabad and other engineering institutions. With the view to recognize upcoming talented sportsmen in the college, the Sports Club organizes an inter-collegiate sports meet, Khel, annually. The festival witnesses a large participation of boys and girls which includes athletics, badminton, table tennis, carroms, chess, cricket, tennis, handball, tennicoit and volleyball. Prizes and Certificates are awarded to the winners.
