Founded on 3rd April 1964 by Major Archiepiscopal Marth Mariam Archdeacon Pilgrim Church Kuravilangad, under the catholic diocese of Palai, Deva Matha College remains a major source of academic inspiration, disseminating knowledge to hundreds of thousands of its beneficiaries. The Parish has etched her name in the academia of Kerala by establishing two High Schools and two L. P. Schools in the latter half of the 18th century and a Higher Secondary School in 1998. The former President of India, Dr. K.R. Narayanan and Chevalier Dr. P. J. Thomas, a renowned Economist did their schooling in these institutions. Deva Matha College, Kuravilangad is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. It is recognized under section 2(f) and 12 B of the UGC Act 1956. The great visionaries, H.E.Mar Sebastian Vayalil, the then Bishop of the Diocese of Palai and Rev. Fr. Paul Alappattu, the then Vicar of St. Mary’s Forane Church, Kuravilangad, who spearheaded the founding of the college, had in their minds the glorious task of dispelling darkness and spreading the light of true wisdom all round, irrespective of caste, creed, language or religion through the dissemination of knowledge and other skills that would mould the young generation into exemplary citizens well equipped to face the challenges of the times. True to its vision and mission, the college today has emerged as a knowledge hub and a leading centre of academic excellence, educating and transforming thousands of students who hail from a purely Agrarian, Rural background.

The main company offering campus placement is South Indian Bank.About 24 students got placed there in this year.Apart from this Various IT companies recruit which are not directly linked with the college.Students can apply for various recruitments during their final year.Placement Cell is excellent and provide a perfect assistance for the students.The average salary offer is about 20k.
The college's placement cell does satisfactory work. They organize placement drives and encourage students to look for better job opportunities. The placement drives have helped many students acquire jobs right after graduating.We have the campus interview for the south Indian and federal bank in our college and it's pride to say that our students have a great success in achieving it. It's a gratitude to say that our students have a good position in the society. Yes our college provide internships for different departments.There are many companies mainly there are companies from banking sector IccI bank, federal bank, South Indian bank, etc they take students through an interview and writing test and they also conduct exams also for the same purpose we are also provided with adequate training for attending the interview.
