The Indian Institute of Information Technology-Guwahati (IIITG) is a premier engineering institute located in the beautiful city of Guwahati, Assam. Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG) is an establishment of National Importance under an Act of Parliament (THE INDIAN INSTITUTES OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP) ACT, 2017). It offers B.Tech. courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE), and runs PhD programs in ECE, CSE, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS). M.Tech. programs in CSE and ECE are beginning from July 2018. IIITG began tasks in August 2013 with B.Tech programs in CSE and ECE. The main bunch of B.Tech. understudies finished their program in May 2017. The primary meeting of the Institute was hung on May 15 2018.
IIITG endeavors to be mindful to scholastic needs of each understudy. Classes are advantageously planned between 9 A.M. to 5 P. M. Each homeroom is cooled and has projection offices. An Institute-wide Wi-Fi framework gives Internet access all through the foundation.
The Institute moved to its grounds on July 2 2018. The grounds is situated on a 67 section of land plot, 4 km from Guwahati air terminal, on the National Highway. Inns for 400 young men and 100 young ladies are prepared, as are 48 pads for staff. A 9200 sqm Academic-cum-Administration building will house all the Institute' activitities. Other than these structures, there is a treated water supply framework, an electric substation with reinforcement generators, and a decentralized sewage transfer framework.
Mr. S. Ramadorai, previous CEO of Tata Consultancy Services, is the Chairman of the Board of Governors. Prof. Gautam Barua, previous Director of IIT Guwahati, is the Director of the Institute.
