Presbyterian Theological Seminary (PTS) was built up in 1969 to prepare people from a Bible-accepting, Reformed viewpoint for administration in God's Kingdom. The Seminary started, with seven understudies on the move, in Roorkee, at that point a piece of the province of Uttar Pradesh. In 1978 the Seminary moved to its present area in Dehra Dun.

The choice to set up a Reformed Seminary to get ready ministers, instructors and different pioneers for the Church was made on February 1, 1969 at a joint gathering of two outreaching Presbyteries, the North India Presbytery of the Bible Presbyterian Church and the Saharanpur Presbytery of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. Later on, these two Presbyteries joined to frame one category. The chronicled connections of the Seminary are, therefore, with the Reformed Presbyterian Church, and their forerunners in the United States. Nonetheless, the Seminary isn't supported by a specific group or association. PTS is monetarily bolstered through the by education costs and commitments of God's kin.
