St. Xavier's Technical Institute (X-TECH) is one of 130 Universities/Colleges on the planet and one of 84 schools in India that is overseen by the Jesuit Order. The most prevalent Jesuit Institutions in India are XLRI, Jamshedpur, Loyola College, Chennai, St. Joseph's College, Bangalore, St. Xavier University, Kolkatta, and Xavier University, Bhubaneshwar. It began in the mid 1930s on the premises of St Xavier's College, Mumbai, Fort, and when it before long started to blossom it likewise requested bigger premises, and these were found in Mahim.

The first need was for an organization that could prepare radio correspondence officials for the transportation business. The Jesuits chose to set up St Xavier's Technical Institute (X-tech), a polytechnic that would serve the oceanic interests. With the quick improvement of Information Technology, a further need was perceived for giving quality training in Computers and Electronics, and subsequently in 2005 a degree-level school, XIE, was set up close by X-tech.

X-TECH has a program that offers individual consideration to each understudy, and encourages an all encompassing development. The understudies value the one-on-one visits with their guides (ombudsman and the staff). The understudies can approach the staff, inform them of their challenges, and even discover the staff willing to sort out additional classes for extraordinary needs. Study halls are wanted to contain close to 60 understudies and the staff-understudy proportion is 1:15. The research centers have best in class gear. The atmosphere of the study halls, and the open doors for creating relational and business aptitudes, add to the unique bundle of advantages for understudies. The way of life of the staff welcomes oblivious impersonation by the understudies.
