Dr.Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education was established during the academic year 1993-94. Aditanar Educational Institution, a registered society, administers this self financing Professional College of Physical Education. Dr.B.Sivanthi Adityan a multifaceted personality was the Founder President of the College. Presently Thiru.S.Balasubramanian Adityan is the President of the College.Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education is situated at Tiruchendur to Tirunelveli highway and is about 3 Kilometer from Tiruchendur Bus Stand and Railway Station. The College Campus Covers an area of 12 acres and is fully residential.Besides the Administrative building, there are Classrooms, Library, Research block, Laboratories such as Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Biomechanics, Measurement, and Sports Training, Educational Technology, Computer, Anatomy, Physiology & Health Education, Human Performance, Sports Medicine (Physiotherapy, Athletic Care & Rehabilitation). Men’s hostel is also housed within the campus. A multipurpose international standard Indoor stadium with wooden flooring, with lighting, is located within the Campus.

LIBRARY
For any academic institution, library is the soul of the establishment. Our Library has evolved over the years and is today it is housed in a 2 storied building. Library is well equipped, comfortably furnished and has airy spacious and well lit interiors. Library can accommodate around two hundred users at any given time and follows the open access system. This system allows any student/staff to pick and choose any book as they like.The Library provides material for under-graduates, post-graduates as well as professionals and scholarly researchers. Materials of education, general interest as well as specialised subject interest are the constituent of the library. It has a collection of 031644 Reference Books, 478 Book Bank Books, 1525 Donated Books, 572 Theses, 13 Magazines, 8 Jounals and 4 Dailies.
Hostel
The college continues to provide a rich environment which is intellectually stimulating and aesthetically pleasing. The hostel provides a wholesome atmosphere for living and learning. The hostel has been extended with a few more rooms in the year 2009. The hostel mess has been renovated with new flooring extending its way upto the corridor of the hostel down stairs. The existing hostel has been extended with 5 single rooms, a Dining Hall and a Study Hall in the first floor. As educators we try to utilize all possible opportunities, to inculcate proper sense of values through the curriculum and also develop an understanding of the critical factors affecting us today.The life of a student is a busy, wholesome one filled with new and varied things to do. The most important aspect of on-campus life is the opportunity it offers to develop self-discipline, inter-personal relationship and the sense of community responsibility along with the academic work. Hostel life in college endeavours to inculcate in our students the habit of honest hardwork.

The Placement Cell was formed in the year 2006-2007 and it functions effectively under the Chairmanship of the Principal and two teachers with the main Objectives to establish linkage between the Institutions and various Schools in and around Thoothukkudi. To encourage the students to participate in campus interviews and to facilitate the students to be placed in the reputed institutions., the cell informs the various schools in and around Thoothukkudi about the Provision for conducting placement interviews in the college, gives information to the students about the available vacancies, make proper arrangements of campus interviews, forwards the application of students teachers to the placement centers on their request.Letters sent to various private schools in and around Thoothukkudi Interviews are being conducted at our campus. Most of our B.Ed trained candidates got the jobs through the TRB exams conducted by Govt of Tamilnadu. 16 Students from our college have cleared the exams and are now working in Govt schools and as Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education. in Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Physical Education scheme.
