Government Arts College, Tiruppur was established in 1966. it's connected with Bharathiar University and licenced with Grade ‘B+’ by NAAC. it's recognized by UGC beneath section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act. the faculty works with the target of providing higher instructional opportunities to economically poor and socially backward rural folks of Tirupur. NSS - There square measure four units functioning within the school. The NSS volunteers work towards up the hygienical conditions of these villages, produce awareness concerning AIDS, RWH. the varied activities performed beneath NSS unit square measure - special camps, seminars, anti-ragging awareness programmes, student coaching programmes, tree plantation and cleanliness activities.
NCC - A senior division NCC unit of the faculty has been raised throughout 1971-72 with a full company of two hundred cadets. The cadets bear numerous coaching like - drill, firing, trekking, aero modeling, gliding, cultural activities, games, mountain climbing, theoretical categories on war ways, weapon, map reading. NCC Cadets are concerned in social awareness programmes like cancer, aids awareness, blood donation campaign etc.
