Kings College of Engineering (KCE) was established in the year 2001 by Raj Educational Trust (RET), Chennai, with the singular aim of providing quality education to the poor and under-privileged students of this region. Situated on the Thanjavur – Pudukkottai Highway, spans over 50 acres in a beautiful, serene atmosphere ideally suited for technical education. KCE is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and is a NAAC Accredited institution. The institute offers five UG and four PG programmes. ECE, EEE and Mechanical Engineering departments are recognized as Research Centres by Anna University, Chennai, for pursuing Ph.D. programmes. Departments of Civil, CSE, ECE and Mechanical Engineering are permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.Our steps are measured and taken with our goal in mind, which is to become a renowned institution where knowledge is a way of life. A campus-wide wireless computing network is in place that allows faculty, staff and students to log onto the Internet at any point of time. The placement cell continuously works to identify requirements of companies and co-ordinates with the training cell and the career development cell to train the students. The Team maps the right talent to the right industry. It has been working meticulously to achieve 100% placements year after year. The placement cell focuses more on giving opportunities in core industries to the students.The placement cell has introduced “Earn While You Learn” model through paid internships. The students are prepared for interview and are placed for internship. The students are paid a stipend, ranging from Rs. 10,000 – Rs. 25,000/- during their internship period. The internship model helps the students and the corporate to understand each other better, paving way for the students to get placed in the companies. The cell continuously monitors their progress and facilitates the students to upgrade their skill-set appropriately. Special timetable and procedures are designed to facilitate the students to complete their regular curriculum during their internship.
