Dalmia College, Rajgangpur was built up in the year 1970 at Jharbera around a sylvan foundation and verdure of timberland and slopes. The College was introduced by Late R. N. Singhdeo, the then Chief Minister of Orissa on August 19, 1970 The College owes its source to the endeavors and activity of Sri S. Sundar Rajan, I.A.S., the then Collector of Sundargarh. Various Panchayats like Kutra, Rajgangpur have given budgetary help to begin the school. The College building is arranged roughly 10 km. away from Rajgangpur town on the No.10 State Highway. It gives instructing offices up to degree organize in Arts, Science and Commerce.
At its commencement the school had a quality of 64 understudies just in two steams - Arts and Commerce. The Science stream was opened during the scholarly session 1980-81.
The present quality has gone up to 1700. Offices for distinctions educating have been given in English, Oriya, Pol. Science, History, Economics, Philosophy, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Mathematics and Zoology. Being situated in a territory overwhelmingly occupied by innate and in reverse classes, the school gives a novel chance to them for advanced education.
The present monstrous and great structure given by Messrs. Dalmia, Orissa Cement Limited, Rajgangpur was initiated on 30th August 1981 by Sri Janaki Ballav Pattnaik, the then Chief Minister with Sri Gangadhar Mohapatra the then Minister, Education and Sri Kishore Chandra Patel, the then Minister, Industries as visitors of respect.
