The ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering may be a flagship institute beneath Indian Council of Agricultural analysis to supply engineering solutions for overall prosperity and property of farming systems. The institute came into existence on Feb fifteen, 1976 with a general mandate to conduct analysis on agricultural mechanization, post-harvest food process, and energy management in agriculture and build capability of applicable stakeholders resulting in effective management of farming operations, augmented productivity, conservation of resources, reduction in plodding, interference of losses, generation of employment and improvement within the lives of farming and allied community. The mandate is consummated by providing national and international leadership by means that of freelance and coordinated analysis through a network of analysis centers established everywhere the country that ends up in developing trade goods and placement specific technologies required by farmers and makers. Transfer of agricultural engineering technology and education also are necessary activities of the institute.

Vision:-

To modernize Indian agriculture by improvement in crop productivity through agricultural mechanization, harnessing energy from renewable sources, economical management of irrigation water, reduction in post-harvest losses and promote agri-business with a read to reinforce financial gain and generate employment in the rural sector.
