St. Jacob's Training College (Self Financing B.Ed. College) established in 30-12-2002 by the Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum. His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Soosa Pakiam M. is the Patron of the College. The college aims at producing cognitively and effectively trained, morally upright, socially committed and spiritually inspired Teachers of India. Located in a sprawling educational campus alongside Marian Engineering College, Marian College of Architecture and Marian College for Arts & Science in sylvan surroundings remote from the hustles, on the outskirts of Trivandrum. a distance of 15 kms from Trivandrum city.With a team of well-qualified, dedicated and experienced teachers we give emphasis to the all-round development of the students.

Boys Hostel

Hostel accommodation is available for both boys. Admission to the hostel is to be sought separately and sufficiently early. Application forms may be collected from the college office. The forms, after being filled in, should be given to the college office. Admission is confirmed only after remitting the admission fee.

Girls Hostel

The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

Gym

The college has a fitness a (gymnasium) (46.47sqm) which is being used by staff and students for maintaining their physical fitness.

Library

Nirmala College Library offers students an excellent selection of books, journals and magazines on all subjects and Internet facilities. Hardbound volumes of the back issues of the leading journals and magazines are also available. The Library has a collection of over 80,000 volumes. The Library subscribes to 190 journals and periodicals both national and international. Book bank facilities are provided by the Departments. The Library is fully computerized with circulation, information retrieval and Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). The Library is open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on all working days and the News House from 6.00 a.m to 6.00 p.m

Sports

The college has adequate facilities for sports, games and cultural activities. It has got a spacious play ground (100m x 68m) for athletics and football. The college has a multipurpose synthetic stadium (30m x 20m) which has the facility for playing four games, namely volleyball, hand ball, throw ball and tennis. The college also had a well equipped a basket ball court (28m x 15m) and a shuttle badminton court (10m x 5m).

St. Jacob's Training College Placements

Our college provide better placement opportunities other than any colleges, all most all leading companies like vipro will select students from our college. All most alla the students got placed in different companies in all years.Usually, placements are given to students in the sixth semester. lit of students is getting placed in some of the companies and banks and many more. To my knowledge, 50% of students are getting placed every year.According to my course the placement opportunities are less. There are no placement or recruitment for economics graduate students.Every year campus placement campaigns are held in the campus and 15-25 companies take part in it. The regular batche has a compulsory internship whereas self financing batch has no internship.Campus recruitment are available. institution takes special steps to the placement.year by year several companies banks etc comes.and select several students with competitive power.The Placements were least as compared to other courses and colleges. I think they have to improve this going forward to stay competitive with other institutions. There was no proper placement related training also.placements and job opportunities arebeing held in this college.As seniors told many companies are being came for job opportunities.
