Sanatana Dharma College is a premiere Arts and Science College affiliated to the University of Kerala and accredited by NAAC with A+. It is also the first higher education institution in Alappuzha district. Established in 1946 by Sri.K.Parthasarathy Iyengar and Sri.V.Sundararaja Naidu, Sanatana Dharma College is heir to a legacy of academic excellence and social service. We continue to uphold this tradition of service and merge it with a pursuit of novelty and innovation. At present, we offer 9 Postgraduate Programmes and 13 Undergraduate Programmes including a career-related B.A in Communicative English and a BSc programme in Microbiology. Our faculty members work hand in hand to inspire learning and instill career oriented skills among students.Sanatana Dharma College has 9 Research Centres (Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, Mathematics, Commerce, Malayalam, English and Economics) affiliated to the University of Kerala. The college has a Central Library that caters to the informational needs of the faculty, students, and other staff of the institute. It is housed in a 1500 Sq. m. three-storied building on the main campus. Digital Library; The faculty, students& research scholars can access online and offline electronic resources. The Digital Library is housed on the first floor and can accommodate 40 users.

I.T Infrastructure
The college has a Computer Centre that is fully networked with 60 desktops and supported by a 16 Mbps internet facility that was opened on the 22nd of August 2011. This fully air-conditioned center is located on the second floor of the Library Complex. The Centre is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on all working days.

Buses ply to all important points as per the requirements of the students. The bus secretary is the in-charge of time scheduling and other arrangements regarding the bus.

6th semester the students are eligible for campus placement. 20% students going for upper studies like M.com etc.There is no placements or internship conducted by the college.There is only sports related job opportunities provided by the college.A student can easily get job in various government department through University certificate in sports.
There is no placement or internships offered by college. No company visit our college. Its just you come and get your degree done. Students themselves have to learn and apply for off campus jobs in different companies.Every year a few hospitals come for recruitment. There is a proper system for selection which includes the semester marks, then a few students are shortlisted then a written exam is conducted and very few are selected for the last round which is the personal interview.The placement opportunity is available in the campus. The college recruits the students to work in the college itself. There are also other hospitals that visit the campus for recruitment process and offers a good salary package.There is a lot of opportunity for the placement. The college itself hires the students as a medical practitioner. Some students also joins their family clinics to support the family members. There are good deals offered to them.
