Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College, established before independence in the year 1942, is the first attempt to educate and uplift the Muslim backward community of Malabar region of Kerala state by Abussabah Ahmed Ali (1906-1971), an eminent scholar and an educational reformist. After the completion of his education from Al Azhar University, which is a centre of academic excellence and a niche of many innovative and revolutionary thoughts, he returned to India in 1935 to dedicate himself for the development of the country. He worked among the educationally backward community, for he has identified that it is only through education that this deprived society can be empowered and uplifted. His concepts of educational reformation and his dream to establish a centre of academic excellence in Kerala were discussed among his colleagues and admirers. This idea was welcomed and encouraged by many equally enthusiastic personalities, thus the Rouzathul Uloom (Garden of Wisdom) Arabic College was established at Anakkayam near Manjeri in 1942, which was one of the first affiliated Arabic colleges in Kerala. It was the great vision of the founder to build a hub of knowledge, a place from where one can acquire knowledge from primary level to advanced level. A Committee in the name of Rouzathul Uloom Association was formed, in the year 1946, to expand the college and its functions and to realize the vision and dreams of the great scholar.
Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College was first affiliated to Madras University and later with Kerala University. Now the college is affiliated to the University of Calicut and Aided by the Government of Kerala. The college is included under section 2f and 12B of the UGC in 2008. The college has the minority status declared by the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, New Delhi.

The candidates who have completed 10+2 standard education from a recognized board are considered eligible for the admission in BA and BBA courses.
For admission to B.Com and BCA, applicants must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Commerce.
For the B.Sc. course, applicants who have passed 10+2 with PCM/ PCB are considered eligible.
To get admission in postgraduate programs, a candidate must have graduate degree in the relevant stream.
Selection of the candidates for admission to any undergraduate course is done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination as well their performance in the interview.
Admission to PG courses and MSW (Masters in Social Works) is offered as per the merit of the applicant in the graduation degree course, score obtained in the interview round and Group Discussion.
Applicants who have completed 10+2/ HSC in any discipline form a recognized board are eligible to get admission in BA program.
To get admission in B.Sc. the applicant must have passed HSC/ 10+2 with PCM/ PCB.
The minimum eligibility requirement for B.Com course is 10+2 with Mathematics/ Commerce.
Admission to the eligible candidates is given on the basis of their merit in the qualifying exam.
St. Joseph releases a merit list on its website and the shortlisted candidates are called for the interview round.

The minimum eligibility requirement for BCA course is 10+2 with Mathematics/ Commerce.Candidates should have completed a BA Degree course in the relevant discipline to be eligible for admission to MA course.
For M.Sc. program, the minimum eligibility requirement is B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University.
For admission to M.Com., candidates must hold B.Com Degree whereas to get admission in MSW course applicant will have to pass BSW from a recognized University.Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of their merit in the UG Degree course and score secured in the interview round conducted by the college.
Admission to MSW program is given considering the marks of UG course, entrance test, group discussion and interview round conducted by the college.
Boys Hostel
Hostel facilities provided by the College, safe and comfortable. There are 118 rooms there. The facilities such as Mess Hall, Prayer Hall, Recreation Hall, Reading Room, Laundry Hall, Guest Room, Volley Ball Court are available in the hostel.
Girls Hostel
Hostel facilities provided by the College, safe and comfortable accommodation is extended to girl-students in two hostels run by religious congregations of sisters with whom the College has an understanding. The facilities such as Mess Hall, Prayer Hall, Recreation Space, Reading Room, Television, Guest rooms, Badminton Court are available in the hostel.

The college has a well equipped library with more than 59000 documents. The library is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all working days, including Saturdays.

From the 6th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. Infosys, South Indian Bank, Federal Bank are companies that visited our college. Most of the students get the placement. My plan after completing my degree is to pursue my CA coaching.The college has placement tie up with leading companies like Wipro, Infosys, Federal Bank, and many more and they possess a good amount Salary, students can take part in the placement process from the 5th semester onwards. I have planned to do my PG after completing my degree.The college provides a good placements in previous years and the 50 % of students are placed to good companies. The main recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Federal bank etc. If you perform good in the interview you will definitely placed in good company. I am planning to join a IT company after my graduation.Federal bank, 4 vacancies, 2 students have been placed, it's nice the alumni is good and after all the students are in all activities and in different company's been placed actually the college is looking forward to start up an incubation centre for the newly entrepreneurs to facilate their activities although the college is moving forward for different aspiration of acquairing better mode of systems.Placements are provided in the college and premium firms participate in them. SIB, Federal Bank etc. Are few of them. The firms are reputed and a huge number of students have been employed every year. The college has a quite efficient employment cell too.There are campus placements in our college to different companies, banks etc which includes South Indian Bank and do other companies.
