It is on November 06, 1983, a "Red-Letter-Day" of greater Rangachahi area in the history of higher education of majuli, one of the biggest rever-islands in the world that an energetic social organization namely 'Majuli JilanYogi Sanmilani", taking an adventurous role under the leadership of late Dambaridhar saikia as President and Sri Bogaram Nath, M.A. B.T., as Principal and secretary with the blessings of reverend Satradhikar Sri Sri Krishna Chandra Dev Goswami of Garamur Satra, Majuli, along with a group of energetic social workers of the entire Rangachahi region, enkindled the candle of the temple ofhigher education as "Rangachahi College" in Majuli.
Rangachahi region, the heart place of Majuli, 10 km distance from the Head Quarter of the Sub-division Garamur, totally free from the danger of erosion of the Mighty Brahmaputra, has many distinctive characters of geographical identity, literacy atmosphere, socio-cultural and historical heritage, healthy and harmonious social environmentwith peace and tranquility. It is established in congenial socio-cultural atmosphere paving the ways for intutive learners.

There's no any type of job opportunitie. No company visited to our college. and there no any placement process.Nowadays college has started to provide placements but back in my time we even didn't know what is placement or internship and college was also not providing such a thing.
The college has a Placement Cell and provides with various opportunities including personality development Programmes to the students. Various recruiters like nestle, apollo visit the college and recruit the students.The college has a dedicated Career Counselling Cell which is mostly responsible with guiding the brilliant of minds of the college and is integrated with most well-reputed career counsellors. The college also hosts multiple seminars, mock interviews, soft skills, communicative English, phonetic exercises, personality development, alumni interaction events and mock interviews to help students learn and understand their way to success and prepare for interview selections of companies and also to gain insights regarding companies and job life from the alumni placed in some of the well-known companies.
