Founded by Shri Jaipal Singh Sharma Trust, GS University was granted University status by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2019. The establishment of the institution was further regulated by the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities (Fifth Amendment) Ordinance to be upheld by 2024.
