St Joseph’s University

St. Joseph's College is a Jesuit college located in the heart of Bengaluru, the Silicon City of India. It was founded by Parisian missionaries in 1882 and taken over by the Jesuit Order (Society of Jesus) in 1937. The college was initially affiliated with the University of Madras, and later with the University of Mysore and the University of Bangalore. In 1986, St. Joseph's College became the first affiliated college in Karnataka to offer postgraduate programs. In 1988, it became the first college in the state to be granted a research centre, and in 2005, it became one of the five colleges in the state to be granted academic autonomy. In February 2021, the St. Joseph's University Bill was introduced in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and subsequently passed by the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council. The University gained University status on 2 July 2022 and was inaugurated on 27 September 2022 by the Honorable President of India, S.M.T. Drupadi Murmu, India's first public-private partnership university.

Facilities Available for St. Joseph University

Wi-Fi campus: IT-enabled campus students can access the internet facility from anywhere on the campus with high-speed networks.

Classrooms: It extends a good platform for healthy debates, lectures, and discussion. The latest technology is equipped in classrooms. Biometric smartcards are issued for ensuring the security of each student within the campus premises.

Laboratory: Labs and workshops for every department. X-Ray rooms, engineering, and electrical workshops are equipped with modern techniques.

Library: A good library is working for developing the reading behavior of the students. Digitalization in the library made the studies beyond the walls of the library.
