Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah College, Teok is located by the side of the National Highway No. 715 at about 25 Kms. east of Jorhat town. The word Teok comes from the Tai language which means abundance of milk and ghee. This large belt of the eastern part of Jorhat district is mostly inhabited by small agriculturalists and tea garden labourers. A large part of the population of neighbouring areas of the college belongs to Scheduled Castes and Plain Tribe of the Mising community. C.K.B College, Teok is almost at an equidistance from Jorhat and Sivasagar. It is well connected by bus from both the towns. Three sides of the college are surrounded by beautiful tea gardens. The college has about 100 bighas (approximately 33.33 acres) of land out of which about 35% land is covered by valuable trees. Thus, the natural environment of the college can be compared with an ancient Indian Ashram.In the year 1959, at the initiative of a few distinguished educationists and with the active co-operation of the people of the locality C.K.B. College, Teok was established as ‘Teok Purbanchal College’. Later, in 1961 the college was renamed as Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah College. Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah was a very courageous pioneer tea planter of Assam and a protagonist of education. His benevolent sons Late Dr N.K. Bezbaruah and Late R. K. Bezbaruah donated about 100 bighas of land and a substantial amount to construct the college in the initial years. C.K.B. College, Teok is a co-educational institution offering courses in both Arts and Commerce Stream.

Admission Process of Chandra Kamal Bezbaruah College

The eligibility is that one has to get at least 40% in their 12th and has to be in Commerce stream. The application form, fees, and dates are found in the application prospectus. Also, the college has an official website where these can be found. For people in the reservation, people like SC and ST have no fees needed to be paid and they need to pay 40% less in admission fees. Also, the admission process is totally offline which should become both offline and online.

Management is really good with a very skilled staff in the campus. A very well provided college for any new student to select it for their upbringing future to enlighten with good learning.

The positive thing of the College is that it is solely for commerce students and the campus is moderately maintained and the faculty in this College is one of the best faculty available for a commerce in the Jorhat district.The most affordable college and have the best learning approach. My relationship with the faculty members and the students were good and friendly. I experienced a lot of new things and learning from this college that developed me into a good businessman.

Boys Hostel

The college has limited hostel facilities for boys. the number of seats currently available is only 62 and 66 respectively. The application form for hostel admission may be collected from the office of the college and submitted to the concerning office assistant after getting admission to the college. The superintendent in consultation with the college authority will finalize the list of candidates on the basis of merit. No seat in the hostel can be reserved prior to admission to the college. Hostels remain closed for summer vacation. Those admitted to the hostels will have to abide by the J. B. College Hostel Rules.

Campus Placement- from 5th semester. Companies visited- ICICI, Kotak, Techno India, etc. Offers made- 1 for every 100 students, Package-2- 6LPA, Percentage of placement- 1%, Plans - Build my career in Hum, and Resource Management and be a valuable asset for a company.

I will have to say that the College provide decent placement and jobs for the students. Nothing fancy but those placement and jobs are not bad jobs either. But if someone is hoping for a very high paid job then this College may not be a good fit for you. No the College don't provides internship even though the College prospects says they do.

Many recruiters like cool minds, TATA consultancy services come for the hiring process on our campus. Many of my classmates opt for marketing jobs and some even pursue higher studies.

Sometimes there are some campus selection for the students of last semester. Many were selected by the companies that campus selection.

Tata Consultancy Services provided campussing in our college. We were informed priorly so a basic preparation was done accordingly to appear in it.
