Govt. Kirti College Nial-Patran, partnered to Punjabi University, Patiala was established in 1968 by S. Teja Singh Swatantar (An Ex. Individual from Parliament ) a political dissident, a Marxist chief. This college was begun as a private Co-instructive foundation. This college was at first kept running in the town dharamshala. the Gram Panchayat of town Nial gave 170 kanals of land for this college on July 16, 1971. The Chief Minister of Punjab Justice Gurnam Singh established the framework stone of the present structure on February 7, 1972. 

Dr. D. C. Pavate, The Governor of Punjab introduced this structure. In 1974 the Punjab Govt. had taken this college under its charge and now it is running under the name of "Govt. Kirti College Nial Patran, it is the main Govt. foundation in the subdivisions of Patran Moonak, Dirba, Lehragaga and Samana together.
