ShankaraGowda College of Education is the scholarly branch of People's Education Society and was set up in 1974. It is situated in the P.E.S. College of Engineering Campus., a spot prestigious as a Center of Educational Institutions where scholastic offices are given appropriate from Secondary College up to research considers in different parts of Humanities, Science and Technology. It is a grounds of excellence, of rich green nurseries, settled in a climate of cool, sterile breeze. The College is situated(near Bannur Road) at Mandya, prevalently known as "Sakkare Nagara"(Sugar City), in the middle of Bangalore and Mysore at a separation of 100 km from Bangalore and 45 km from Mysore. It is one of the Pioneer educator training organizations in Karnataka.
The College was set up in 1974 to celebrate the 60th birth day of Sri K.V.Shankara Gowda, who was known as 'PURUSHA SARASWATHI' of Mandya District and called 'NITHYA SACHIVA' by Poet Laureate KUVEMPU, for his work as Minister of Education in the Government of Karnataka during the mid eighties. It is a College of Education built up and kept running by the People's Education Trust(R), which at present is going by an extraordinary visionary and a severe slave driver Dr.H.D.Chowdaiah.
The College has seen a detectable changes and gigantic advancement during most recent two decades. It has Computerized Library, Well prepared Computer Laboratory, Language Laboratory, Science Laboratories for Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics, Educational Technology Room and Sport Room.
