Amity University Noida offers the Ph.D. study courses in two modes that are Full time (minimum 3 years) and Part-time (Minimum 4 and ½ years) with a maximum duration of 6 years, in both cases. It does not offer a Ph.D. study course in distance learning mode. The admissions in the Ph.D. are done twice a year for the January and the July sessions. Participation by the candidates in various interactions, submission of the progress reports through presentations, etc. on a regular basis is mandatory during the study program. Amity encourages interdisciplinary research and the exchange of ideas and knowledge in various related fields.
Amity University Noida Ph.D. course Minimum Eligibility Criteria
Students who pursue admission to the Ph.D. study program shall have to fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria:
* The candidates should have completed two years of Masters OR M.Phil Degree course from any accredited Indian or Foreign University in the relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks scored or any equivalent grade.
* The candidates with M. Tech / M.E./M.S. qualification in relevant disciplines with excellent academic record with minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 60% marks scored and with minimum 60% marks aggregate in 10th, 12th, and B.Tech/B.E will be considered eligible for the admission in Ph.D. study Programs in Engineering and Technology.
* For Ph.D. in Law, the applicant should possess a Master’s degree in the Law with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks scored or any equivalent grade or M. Phil in law.
* Applicants with Chartered Accountancy Qualification from 'The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India' (ICAI)/ Cost and Works Accountancy of ICWAI/ Company Secretary of ICSI with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks scored or any equivalent grade may be considered eligible for admission to Ph.D. study Programs in the relevant field.
* Foreign or NRI students with a Master's degree from a foreign university should apply with an equal certificate of AIU along with the Online Application Form.
* Students who have cleared an All India National Level Competitive Examination like NET of UGC / CSIR / ICAR (ASRB) / GPAT / ICMR / GATE / DST - INSPIRE within the last 2 years from the time of applying for a Ph.D. study course at Amity university, shall be exempted from the written exam of the Ph.D. course
