Admissions Open in IGNOU Study Centre Manipur University

In compatibility of the Notification F.No.IG/RSD/03/2000/2157 of the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, dated the fourteenth November 2000, the Imphal Regional Center become utilitarian on the first December 2000. The first ever IGNOU official who headed this RC as the Regional Director-in-control was Mr. Joseph Somi (named as Assistant Regional Director). 

The three IGNOU Study Centers which had been in presence since late 1980s, viz, the Manipur University SC, Churachandpur College SC and Presidency College SC, Motbung were working under the regulatory help of the Shillong Regional Center till they were along these lines brought under the authoritative control of the Imphal Regional Centre.Within the period from 2000 to 2005, upwards of five new Study Centers and one Program Study Center (1708P) were set up making the aggregate of nine SC/PSCs . 

On the 27th January 2006, Dr. R.K.Ranjit Singh accepted the workplace of the Regional Director for the Imphal Regional Center. Dr. D. Joseph Kuba, the Assistant Regional Director likewise joined this RC in July 2006. Inside one and half years (from 2006 January to Oct. 2007) two Study Centers at Senapati (Mt. Everest College) and Chandel (United College) individually had been set up notwithstanding two Program Study Centers at (Tamenglong Higher Secondary School) and Churachandpur DIET extraordinarily for the Certificate in Primary Education (CPE) Program. 

At this point all the five slope locale of Manipur have in any event one Study Center or a Program Study Center each. The slope locale of Tamenglong is yet to have a Study Center in spite of the fact that there is one Program Study Center at the Tamenglong Higher Secondaray School (1711P). The Senapati locale has three IGNOU study focuses Of the valley regions, the Imphal East and Bishnupur areas are yet to have an IGNOU Study Center.
