Sadhana Education Society’s L. S. Raheja College of Arts & Commerce is a premier educational institute situated in the heart of Mumbai’s suburbs, Santacruz (West). It is a  Gujarati-speaking linguistic minority institution offering quality-oriented education from higher secondary to doctoral programme.Its parent body Sadhana Education Society was established in 1961. Since its inception, the Society is dedicated to the cause of education. With the mission to spread education in all its aspects and phases, across various sections of the society and to promote research and nurture the Gujarati culture, the Society founded its first institute – Smt. Kapila Khandvala College of Education in 1961. Thereafter, it instituted Malti Jayant Dalal Primary School and Malti Jayant Dalal High School in 1968. In 1975, the Society also instituted Malati Jayant Dalal Nursery School and S.B. Kindergarten. Subsequently, to promote the all-round development of students and to facilitate education from K.G. to Ph.D. under one banner, the Society instituted L. S. Raheja College of Arts & Commerce in 1980.The inscription ‘DeepoJyotiPrajvalito, Jyanmay, PrakashmayPradeepah’on the emblem, which literally means ‘To shun the darkness of ignorance and to spread the light of knowledge’, illustrates the motto of the Society. The founders of the Society have a distinct vision to promote education and foster the scientific and academic temper of the young minds of Mumbai. The vision and mission are formulated as follows:Affiliated to the University of Mumbai, L. S. Raheja College started its humble journey by offering Graduate programmes in Arts & Commerce. With its incessant efforts, the College earned a distinct reputation of high standards of calibre and commitment. In 1999, keeping in pace with the changing trends in education and the corporate sector, the College was one of the first to offer the then newly introduced unaided programme of the Mumbai University, viz., Bachelors in Management Studies. Thereafter, it received affiliation for Bachelor of Arts In Multimedia and Mass Communication programme in 2005; Bachelors of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) & Bachelors of Commerce (Banking and Insurance) in 2006; Bachelors of Science (Information Technology) in 2007 and Bachelors of Commerce (Financial Markets) in 2008. It started offering Masters in Commerce under several specializations from the year 2002. In the year 2018, the Research Centre (Ph.D.) in Commerce was revived.

Auditorium:The foyer of the auditorium is available throughout the year for practice for various programs. The music system is available for cultural programs for the students. For Co-curricular activities, we have an air-conditioned auditorium with a capacity of 650 where cultural programs are held.

Conference Hall:The College has a well-equipped conference hall located on the 6th floor.

IT Labs:A State-of-the-art Computer Center has been provided with Computers powered with i3 and i5 processors. The entire arrangement is oriented with 1 HP server & Structured networking system with 100 MBPS Hathway Leased line and a broadband connection of 4 MBPS from MTNL. The Computer Centre provides excellent internet surfing & downloading facility. Students are provided with State–of–the–art Wi-fi technology; enabling wireless access on their laptops. The 4th-floor computer lab has 27 computers and the 5th-floor computer lab has 45 computers.

Ramp Facility:For easy and smooth access to college premises, there is a ramp facility for handicapped students & Wheel Chair for easy Access. All floors are barrier-free for easy movement of Persons with Disability.

Scribe Facility:Scribe Facility is provided to PwD students as per the University of Mumbai Guidelines They are also given additional 20 minutes per hour of paper as per the University Guidelines. 

Canteen:There is a canteen facility on the ground floor with a seating capacity for about 100 students.

Sports:The College provides gymkhana facilities for indoor games like Table Tennis, Chess, and Carrom. The college also provides facilities for outdoor games like Cricket, Badminton, and Football. Every year the College organizes the annual athletic meet at the University Sports Pavilion, Marine Lines. Students participate in various events like the 5000-meter run, 1500-meter run, 800-meter run, 400-meter run, 200-meter run, 100 meters run, Discus throw, Long jump, Javelin throw, 4 X 100 Relay and Shot put. The college has Banks/ATM facilities for all students.

Admission Process of L.S. Raheja College of Arts and Commercein Mumbai

L.S. Raheja College of Arts and Commerce College offers admissions to the undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes. Meeting the eligibility criteria is the first step of the KC College Mumbai admission process. After meeting the eligibility criteria, candidates have to fill the college application form. L.S. Raheja College of Arts and Commerce College admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are based on the merit scores of the qualifying exam, except for the Communication and Journalism, Entertainment Media and Advertising programmes. However, the college levies certain criteria while releasing the merit list for some of the programmes. For the B.M.S programme, weight age is given to the candidates with arts, commerce and science background. In the case of B.Sc., preference is given to the merit aggregate scores of 10+2. According to the KC College Mumbai admission criteria for some of the programmes Communication and Journalism, Entertainment Media and Advertising), candidates also have to appear for written tests and PI. The college conducts PET for the programme admission. Qualified candidates further have to appear for an interview. NET/SET/GATE/JRF/M.Phil/teacher fellowship candidates are exempted from the entrance test.
