Why Shyam Lal College?

Shyam Lal College (SLC), a co-educational constituent college of the University of Delhi, was founded in 1964 by the great visionary and entrepreneur Padmashree (late) Shri Shyam Lal Gupta (then Chairman of the Shyam Lal Charitable Trust) it was done. The foundation stone of the university was laid by Drs. Zakir Hussain, then Honorary Vice President of India and Chancellor of Delhi University. The aim of the university at the time of its establishment was to provide quality education to students, especially girls, from economically and educationally disadvantaged communities in East Delhi. Since its inception in 1964, SLC has come a long way and emerged as a center of academic excellence for the University of Delhi. Spread over a vast campus of 29,501 sqm and a built-up area of ​​7,505.40 sqm, SLC 09 offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses (in Hindi) in various fields of science, business and humanities. Two new courses, Mathematics (Hons) and Chemistry (Hons), have been approved by the university and the university will be offering these courses to students from the 2017-18 academic year. Currently, the university has 3,940 students enrolled. SLC has a highly dedicated faculty of 132 faculty members and 87 non-faculty members (including adjunct faculty and non-faculty members).

Eligibility Criteria of Shyam Lal College in Delhi

Admission Process of Shyam Lal College in Delhi

1. Candidates wishing to enroll in the first-year course should apply online. Complete forms must be submitted via the College website.

2. Applicants must upload original documents and a recent passport size photo.

3. The admission form recommended by admission committee and approved by the Principal entitles a candidate to deposit the prescribed fee within the stipulated period.

4. Change of subject is allowed only with the permission of the Principal. Change of faculty, i.e. from Science to Arts and vice versa, is permissible only if the candidate has the required percentage of marks as specified for admission to that faculty.

5. College authorities may discontinue a course of study in case adequate number of students are not available in a particular course.
