Tripura University West Tripura Ph.D. Basic Eligibility
The Eligibility for the Indian and the International students who wish to take up Ph.D. study courses at the institution are different as discussed below.
Eligibility for the Indian Students
* Candidates should have a relevant PG degree with 55% aggregate marks scored or equivalent CGPA of 7 from any recognized University.
* Students belonging to SC/ST/OBC can have a minimum of 50% aggregate any marks scored in the relevant PG or equivalent provided with a relaxation of 5% marks from a recognized University.
* Eligibility marks of 55% and the relaxation is only applied for the qualifying marks scored without including any grace marks.
* Any professional course degree recognized by UGC/ AICTE are also eligible.
Eligibility for the International Students
* Students must have a relevant PG course degree with a project work course of four credits and a course of the research methodology with four credits with an aggregate of 55% marks scored.
* Candidate should have a degree that is equivalent to the M.Phil. in an Indian Institution. But this equivalent certification has to be obtained from a Foreign Educational Authority.
* Even if the students are holding a degree without these courses, they are eligible to apply for the course.
Tripura University West Tripura Ph.D. course Admission Guidelines
Research Eligibility Test that is RET is conducted by the university towards the admission of all the Students. Candidates who qualify with 50% marks scored are further selected to attend a Viva voice examination and are selected based on their overall performance.
* Students with a valid mark scored in UGC/ CSIR NET/ SLET/ SET/ GATE are exempted from attending the written exam of RET.
