VISWA BRAHMANA COLLEGE (VBC), Vechoochira is self financing college affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala.
The college was established in June 2002. Within a short span of the academic years, VBC has attained strong footing among the colleges started during the period of VBC’s inception. It is situated on a beautiful hillock, an extent of 12 acres at Vechoochire, 15 kilometers away from Ranni.
VBC IS MANAGED BY Viswa Brahmana Educational Trust Reg.No. A727 / 99 having its head office at Alappuzha. The college is now leading by a 19 director board member committee. As a part of it Viswabrahmana Educational Trust is now managed by Chairman Mr.M.Suresh Achary, Secretary Mr. Venky.N. Functions of the college is under the powerful control of the Viswabrahmana Educational Trust.

The candidates who have completed 10+2 standard education from a recognized board are considered eligible for the admission in BA and BBA courses.
For admission to B.Com and BCA, applicants must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Commerce.
For the B.Sc. course, applicants who have passed 10+2 with PCM/ PCB are considered eligible.
To get admission in postgraduate programs, a candidate must have graduate degree in the relevant stream.
Selection of the candidates for admission to any undergraduate course is done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination as well their performance in the interview.
Admission to PG courses and MSW (Masters in Social Works) is offered as per the merit of the applicant in the graduation degree course, score obtained in the interview round and Group Discussion.
Applicants who have completed 10+2/ HSC in any discipline form a recognized board are eligible to get admission in BA program.
To get admission in B.Sc. the applicant must have passed HSC/ 10+2 with PCM/ PCB.

St. Joseph releases a merit list on its website and the shortlisted candidates are called for the interview round.

For M.Sc. program, the minimum eligibility requirement is B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University.
For admission to M.Com., candidates must hold B.Com Degree whereas to get admission in MSW course applicant will have to pass BSW from a recognized University.Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of their merit in the UG Degree course and score secured in the interview round conducted by the college.
Admission to MSW program is given considering the marks of UG course, entrance test, group discussion and interview round conducted by the college.
Library
The College Library is to support the teaching, learning, research, and other academic programs of the college by collecting, coordinating, and disseminating information centers. It has a major role in paving the way for better academic excellence. Membership Library Membership is open to all the teachers, students, and non-teaching staff of this college.
Laboratories
Passionate teaching staff that conducts practicals in all areas of Zoology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry. All labs have a proper seating capacity of 30 students in each lab. Compound microscopes, dissecting microscopes are available in each lab. Ovens, Heating plate, pH meter, physical balances, B.O.D., and laminar flow, Autoclave, etc for use in Microbiology and Biochemistry lab. The biology lab is well equipped with slides, specimens, and working materials. The department has all the apparatus for practical classes. The department offers On Job Training Programmes and Project works in leading Industries.
I.T Infrastructure
The college has a computer lab with individual computers for each student. The college facilitates external training and exposure for the faculty in the utilization of the IT infrastructure. Students are also made aware of their utility so that the IT infrastructure is effectively utilized for the teaching-learning process. Students can make use of the internet and intranet facility available in these labs on all working days.
Sports
The students are active in sports and games the Sports Club arranges the time and again various sports events and competitions. The College campus provides all amenities to the sports lovers including well-maintained sports grounds and facilities for games such as hockey, football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, athletics, etc., and well as various indoor games like badminton.

Placements are based upon the experience gained towards both academic and practical area. Jobs are in plenty you have to just apply for it. Many companies and industries from out and inside India offers great opportunity to your future life. Only just make sure you have passport.From the 6th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. Infosys, South Indian Bank, Federal Bank are companies that visited our college. Most of the students get the placement. My plan after completing my degree is to pursue my CA coaching.The college has placement tie up with leading companies like Wipro, Infosys, Federal Bank, and many more and they possess a good amount Salary, students can take part in the placement process from the 5th semester onwards. I have planned to do my PG after completing my degree.The college provides a good placements in previous years and the 50 % of students are placed to good companies. The main recruiters are TCS, Wipro, Federal bank etc. If you perform good in the interview you will definitely placed in good company. I am planning to join a IT company after my graduation.Federal bank, 4 vacancies, 2 students have been placed, it's nice the alumni is good and after all the students are in all activities and in different company's been placed actually the college is looking forward to start up an incubation centre for the newly entrepreneurs to facilate their activities although the college is moving forward for different aspiration of acquairing better mode of systems.
