The College started functioning on 1st June 1995 in the TMAM Hall at Mar Thoma centre, Ranni with a dedication service led by the former Metropolitan His Grace Dr.Alexander Mar Thoma and the Rt.Rev.Dr.Philipose Mar Chrysostom, the then Suffragan Metropolitan, who is the founder – Manager. The college was formally inaugurated on Aug 18, 1995. It was shifted to the new venue at Edakulam on 11th September 1997.In order to satisfy the requirements of NCTE a spacious two- storeyed building was constructed and declared open by Rt.Rev.Dr.Euyakim Mar Coorilos Episcopa on 16th June 2000.The construction of the second floor of this building was completed in September 2006 and it was inaugurated by the Manager of the college, The Rt.Rev.Geevarghese Mar Athanasius , Diocesan Episcopa, after a dedication service held on 26/09/2006. Now the college building complex has the appearance of a beautiful “Nalukettu” of the past, which encloses a spacious “Nadumuttam”. The flora and lush growth of vegetation on the surrounding hill slopes provide a noise-free, pollution – free, serene atmosphere like the ‘Asrams’ or ‘Gurukulams’ of the past.The college is in its 25th year. It prepares graduates for the B.Ed Degree Examination and equips them to carry out their noble work efficiently and effectively, by providing sound exposure to theoretical orientation, school experience and practical work needed for teacher preparation at the Secondary and Higher Secondary level. It is hoped that in the process of national reconstruction our members of the teaching profession will play their role and this institution will succeed in its efforts to produce exemplary teachers.

Computer Laboratory
Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e resource center, which provides access to e resources among other things.
Library
Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.
Canteen
The College campus has a spacious and well ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.
Seminar Rooms
The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state of the art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.

Placements: Around 80% of students got placed easily. The highest package offered was around 5 LPA, and the lowest package was about 2 LPA. Around 60% of students got internships. The college supports you in every possible manner and guides you towards your future.Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available on the college premises, and the speed of Wi-Fi is also good. Labs, classrooms and library are regularly cleaned and maintained. The quality of food in the college is good, and they prepare different food items on different days. Special food is available on special occasions.Faculty: All the teachers are qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is awesome. They will definitely help you to clear your concepts. The course curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry-ready. Exams are quite difficult.
