Canara Engineering College(CEC), established in the year 2001 as a new millennium project of Canara High School Association, in the sprawling campus of 26 acres of pristine natural beauty at Benjanapadavu, Mangalore has now grown as a promising engineering institution with distinction in the coastal region of Karnataka, India, where values and technology converge! The lofty dream of our founder, Late Sri Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, of providing quality education to the needy student community at affordable costs, is being realized today at CEC, through well qualified and motivated faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure and distinguished learning-centric facilities.Started with just an intake of 180 in three branches, today the institute boasts of a total intake of 630 in seven branches, namely Mechanical Engg., Computer Science & Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Information Science & Engg., recently introduced inter-disciplinary programs in demand, namely Computer Science & Design, Computer Science & Business System and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. All these programs being approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University(VTU), Belagavi; CEC ensures that the students are well trained on existing engineering practices and acquainted with latest industrial trends. Admission Process of Canara Engineering College

KVG College of Engineering offers 4 years full-time B.E. course in 6 specializations.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and any one of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Electronics/ Computer Science as the optional subject from a recognized board are eligible for admission to B.E. course.

Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of their score in KCET conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).KVGCE offers 2 years full-time M.Tech course in 6 specializations and 2-year full-time MBA course to the aspirants.

Applicants who hold a Bachelor Degree (BE/ B.Tech) are eligible to get admission into M.Tech, whereas those who hold a graduate degree in any discipline are considered eligible for admission to MBA course.

Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in PGCET.

KVG College of Engineering offers Ph.D. program in 9 specializations. Applicants who have completed their UG/ PG in relevant discipline from a recognized university are considered eligible for admission to the Ph.D. course.

Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of their percentage obtained in UG/ PG courses and their performance in the interview round conducted by the college.

Library

The college library is housed in a large Room & Contains a good collection of books required by the students as well as Members of various faculties: a large number of books, Text Books, Reference Books, and Books for General reading are being added to the Library every year.

I.T Infrastructure

The college has a Computer Lab which forms part of the Commerce and Management Department is well equipped with computers to bridge the gap between theory and practice in business studies.

Boys Hostel

The college hostel is clean and comfortable and each room is provided with adequate facilities for stay and study. It has a visitor's lounge, recreation hall, study hall, prayer hall, facilities for indoor games, magazines, and television. Mess facilities are available with a well-maintained dining hall inside the hostel. A variety of meals are prepared hygienically and served aesthetically. Students are availed to go out with the warden's consent.

7thsem the campus selection will begin, and almost all companies have selected candidates from this college with all different branches. Sometimes the campus is conducted by pool where other college students also come to this college for campus recruitment. Well, the percentage gets more beneficial.

To improve your presentation skills, placement cell conducts special classes to face the exams and Iinterviews.Many companies conducted placement in the college which includes, Samundra institute of marine studies, Alpha marine engineering etc.As I had heard it's not too good. But I don't know what happens by the time I go through it . But I pray to god that I have to get a good placement from which I may get good job in a well known company.Every student should posses an identity card issued by the college, which should be produced whenever asked.No placements were come into our college and all passed out students were go to outside to search the jobs. compare to placement the mech students were not placed in any companies in our college because no companies was entered into campus.
