Why MA Chidambaram School of Nursing?

The Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council is an Autonomous Statutory Registration Body for enrolling qualified Nurses, Midwives, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives/Multipurpose Health Workers/Health Visitors according to the arrangement in the Act. 

The Madras Nurses and Midwives Act No.III of 1926 was passed in the Madras Legislative Council of Madras in 1926 pursued by Notification in the Fort St. George Gazette on 29th June 1926 and came into power on fourteenth February 1928. 

The Madras Nurses and Midwives Council was established under the expert of the above Act by a notice by the Governor on fourteenth December 1928. This Council is the soonest bit of Legislation on Nursing in the entire of South-East Asia going for the progression of Nursing Education and champion the reason for the nursing calling. 

"The Madras Nurses and Midwives Act No.III of 1926" was renamed as the "Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives (Amendment) Act No.XXVI" of 1960 on fourteenth December 1960. 

The guidelines and guidelines confined thereunder have been corrected on a few events to suit the fast changes in science and advancements.
