Narayana Guru College of Engineering (NGCE), an institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi was established in the year 2002 under the aegis of Dr. G Sidharthan, Former Head, Department of Management studies, Anna University Chennai, and Former Registrar of Kerala University. The campus is located amidst a verdant and lush green landscape in Manjalumoodu, Kanyakumari district. The College has grown from strength to strength in the last 21 years and progressing towards Excellence in Engineering Education, Research and Development.In pursuit of excellence, a quality management system is in place in line with ISO 9001-2000. Classrooms
Every department has spacious, well-ventilated classrooms, equipped with 24/7 internet connectivity. Each classroom can comfortably accommodate 90 students. The classes are digitally equipped, enabling provisions like audio-visual aids that simulate an enhanced learning experience for the students. We also offer facilities for simultaneous in-person, online delivery of lectures and guest interactions. The tables and chairs inside the classes are ergonomically designed, keeping in mind the potential benefits of healthy posture in improving student outcomes.

Sports and Games
By education, Mahatma Gandhi meant an all-round drawing out of the best in the child and man-body, mind and spirit. Only a person with healthy body and mind can acquire wisdom in entirety.Since its inception, under the supervision and guidance of Department of Physical Education, NGCE has been giving immense importance to physical and cognitive recreation of students via sports and games. Physical education is a crucial component of the academics, hence our institution offers numerous facilities to improve and maintain physical health. The Physical Education Department has curated person-specific wellness programmes that enhance cognitive capacities and motor skills via athletics and exercises. The college has immaculate sports fields and courts for National and State specific sports and games.
Hostel
Hostels, being an integral part of college infrastructure have been given due attention in terms of its functioning. We provide separate hostels for boys and girls. The accommodation is spacious and conducive to personal and academic progress of the students. With unlimited Wi-Fi access, inmates have the liberty to access learning resources from anywhere inside the hostel premises.Being a home away from home, the administration takes extra care in the preparation, delivery, and hygiene standards of hostel food. The menu primarily includes Kerala and Tamilnadu cuisine, along with weekly North Indian delicacies. 24-hour Gorkha/Ex-serviceman security has been provided in all hostel blocks, to ensure safety of the inmates. In addition, competent faculty members take charge as wardens and attend to the hostel-related grievances.
Canteen
The college features a roomy cafeteria that includes a well-maintained dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. This cafeteria offers cost-effective refreshments and meals to both students and staff, particularly benefitting day scholars who travel long distances to campus. It offers a diverse selection of hygienic food and snacks, ranging from South Indian meals to Chinese cuisine and juices. Additionally, the cafeteria stocks branded packaged snacks for sale.
Health Centre
Narayana Guru College of Engineering (NGCE) has a dedicated Health Centre to provide first aid and timely medical services to students, faculty members, staff and contract workers inside the campus. A trained medical professional along with an assisting team are available 24/7 to perform initial assessment of illnesses and injuries.The health centre has well-stocked dispensary unit and basic instruments that cater to the immediate clinical and pharmaceutical needs of patients.NGCE has a long-standing collaboration with all specialty clinics, ambulance services, and hospitals in the vicinity to ensure comprehensive healthcare services in times of emergency.

The placement cell continuously works to identify requirements of companies and co-ordinates with the training cell and the career development cell to train the students. The Team maps the right talent to the right industry. It has been working meticulously to achieve 100% placements year after year. The placement cell focuses more on giving opportunities in core industries to the students.The placement cell has introduced “Earn While You Learn” model through paid internships. The students are prepared for interview and are placed for internship. The students are paid a stipend, ranging from Rs. 10,000 – Rs. 25,000/- during their internship period. The internship model helps the students and the corporate to understand each other better, paving way for the students to get placed in the companies. The cell continuously monitors their progress and facilitates the students to upgrade their skill-set appropriately. Special timetable and procedures are designed to facilitate the students to complete their regular curriculum during their internship.
Lifelong learning is a central aspect of today’s society, and the Career Cell at NGCE assists students in planning and upgrading their professional skills at various stages in their careers. It collaborates with Placement Officers. The Career Cell’s tasks include organising soft-skill growth courses and training sessions, performing aptitude, dexterity, and other exams, and organising coaching classes for various competitive examinations. Academic, personal, and financial factors all affect educational decisions, and the strong student-faculty partnership fostered at NGCE enables students to discuss each of these with experience, allowing them to make the best decision possible.
