Santhigiri Siddha Medical College (SSMC) was established in 2002 by Santhigiri Ashram, imbibing the vision of its Founder Guru, NAVAJYOTHISREE KARUNAKARA GURU. This college is the first ever Siddha Medical College in Kerala as well as the first outside the state of Tamil Nadu, the cradle of the Siddha system. It is the only Siddha college among the Nine (the other 8 are in Tamil Nadu) in the country, where the medium of instruction is English and not Tamil. Therefore, the doctors coming out of the Santhigiri Siddha Medical College will get a global exposure. At present students from many foreign countries such as Switzerland, Japan etc. have joined the Santhigiri Siddha Medical College.The Santhigiri Siddha Medical College aims at grooming doctors with a deep understanding and scientific knowledge of the Siddha system in accordance with the system's fundamentals, with extensive practical training, and above all possessing the great principles of the 'Nava Arogya Dharma Siddhantham' (New Doctrine of Healthcare) envisioned by Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru.This college offers the 'Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery' (BSMS) course. It is affiliated to the University of Kerala and Kerala University of Health Sciencs (KUHS), Thrissur. It is recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), New Delhi, (National Commission for Indian System of Medicine's website will be updated soon.)The course duration is four-and-a-half years, consisting of 3 Professional Periods of 18 months each followed by a 12-month Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (CRRI). Seven batches of students have passed out after completing the course and are well placed professionally

Candidates who have secured minimum 50% marks (40% for the reserved category) in 10+2 examination and have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects from Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or equivalent and have also qualified NEET-UG or any State level medical entrance examination conducted by the Government of Kerala are considered eligible to get admission in BDS course. Candidates must also pass English subject at 10+2 level. Candidate with B.Sc. degree in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or with Pre- Medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology are also eligible to apply.
Admission to BDS course is given based on the merit list prepared by evaluating the result of NEET-UG and marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination. It is compulsory for the applicants to obtain at least 50% marks (40% for the reserved category and 45% for PH candidates) in NEET UG to get admission in the course.
Candidates who have completed BDS Degree course from a Dental College or University recognized by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi and Kerala University Health Sciences (KUHS), Thrissur and are registered provisionally or permanently with the State Dental Council are eligible to get admission to MDS course.Candidates must fill up the application form online from the official website of the college. The filled up application form must be submitted offline through the post along with the Demand Draft.
Boys Hostel
With a well-equipped campus for study, research, and practice, the college has adequate residential facilities. The on-campus hostel accommodations are in close proximity to the college and hospital. The boys’ hostel has 30 rooms accommodating students on a double occupancy basis. The mess is run on a cost-sharing basis. Based on the opinion of the boarders, the mess committee will decide upon the menu which consists of both vegetarian and nonvegetarian preparations. The hostel fees which include the caution deposit, mess deposit, mess advance, and the room rent will be collected at the time of admission.
Girls Hostel

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
Library
The library with a seating capacity of 100 is an ocean of 3000 books with newer publications and editions added every year, 25 National and International journals available for the undergraduate, and the staff. E-Library, computers, and multimedia facilities enable scientific presentations, seminars, and publications. The College boasts of an excellent Wi-Fi enabled Main Library which is host to a commendable 2000 book titles in dentistry, with a total of 6000 books. Internet access to the latest in literature is available with subscriptions to over 46 international and national journals. Back issues of the most important journals are also available in the library in bound form for the last 10 years.
Sports
The college has sports facilities for all students.
I.T Infrastructure
The college offers 10 desktop computers to its students for project work and internet access. In addition, the college is in the process of computerizing all departments for record-keeping as well as research purposes. Internet access is through ISDN leased line, and allowed at nominal charges for students.
Cafeteria
The college provides a cafeteria which offers fresh snacks, cold drinks and ice-creams.
Auditorium
There is a conference hall which has a seating capacity of 200 students. Continuing dental education programs are regularly conducted here and it is well equipped with multimedia facilities.
Transport Facility
The students are well supported by the transport facility. Buses ply daily from Thiruvananthapuram to provide easy conveyance. The conveyance system helps the students who do not reside in the hostel to commute to and from the college with convenience.
Wifi
The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.
Laboratories
All laboratories, both pre-clinical and clinical, are equipped with facilities to seat a large number of students in comfort.
