Admissions Open in Islamiah College (Autonomous)

Islamiah College is an image of commitment to instruction and love for learning of the Muslims of Vaniyambadi who in their energy for converting vigorously the message of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, set up the Vaniyambadi Muslim Educational Society in 1901, and Islamiah Elementary College was begun in 1903. 

The extraordinary development of the College was because of the untiring and devoted administrations and initiative of Janab T.Hajee Badruddin Sahib, Janab Malang Hayath Batcha Sahib, Janab T.Ameenuddin Sahib and Janab Malang Ahmed Batcha Sahib. The full-fludged Islamiah High College appeared in 1912. In 1916, the general public made plans to build up Islamiah College and the establishment stone of the College was laid by His Excellency Lord Pentland, the then Governer of Madras Province. With regal gifts from the Muslim altruists, the College was begun in 1919 and got acknowledgment from July 1921. The structure where the College is housed at present was opened by Nawab C.Abdul Hakeem Sahib who gave a considerate gift of Rs. 50,000 to the Society. 

In 1946, the College was redesigned as a Degree College offering multi year degree courses in B.A Economics and B.Com. In 1954, B.A Group1(b) Mathematics was begun. In 1956, the College got alliance for the pre-college and the multi year degree courses, B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com., were begun in 1957. The University concurred consent to begin B.Sc. Zoology and B.A. History in 1967. M.A. History was begun in 1974, M.Com. in 1975, and M.Sc. Science in 1976.
