Sree Narayana College, Cherthala was built up by Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam with the goal of giving advanced education to the youngsters and ladies particularly of the retrogressive commmunities of the locality.The collegE lays exceptional accentuation on character building and social duties dependent on the instructing of Sree Narayana Guru who accepted that "informed youth could shred the shackles of the social separation and face the difficulties of existence with certainty and pride" . 

Understanding the fantasies of the Guru and materalizing appeals like "Instruct that you might be free" and "Enlightment through Eduacation", the school was inagurated on 14 th July 1964 by the late Sri R. Shanker the organizer Secreatray of S.N Trusts and the then Chief Minister of Kerala.The Guru's proclaiming ,"One Caste ,One Religion and One God for man " is maintained in all domains of the capacity of the foundation.
