Dr. (Capt).DVP Raja -The founder of Madurai Institute of Social Sciences had a visionary plan of fitting an academic establishment within the Southern a part of state with a read to coach young men and girls in “Scientific Humanism”. With the help & cooperation of like dignitaries like Sir P.T. Rajan, Mr. M.B.S. Henry,Managing Director, Madura Coats, Prof. S.Ramanathan, Dr. T.P. Meenakshi Sundaram (Former administrator, Madura Kamaraj University), Dr. Syrian Arab Republic (Former administrator of Gandhigram Rural University) et al, it had been started during a little house at twenty one, Beasant road, Chokkikulam, Madurai on ordinal Gregorian calendar month 1969 on the birthday centenary of Gandhiji, the daddy of our Nation with enrollment of four students. currently the College has over a thousand students housed during a massive building on stunning field, Alagarkoil road, Madurai. It began as a Post GraduateCollege with a read of meeting long felt want of southern districts of state. currently Madurai Institute of Social Sciences could be a multi-faculty faculty and analysis Centre, and licenced with B ++ by NAAC in 2007. Achieved Autonomous standing within the year 2009. the College was Re-accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC within the year 2014 and got extension of Autonomy within the year 2016.The college presently offers four Post Graduate, seven below Graduate, 3 Diploma, M.Phil and hydrogen ion concentration. D programmes. the College offers credential in Health Care below the UGC junior college theme within the year 2014. ever-changing academic climate provided the challenges that Dr. (Capt).D.V.P.Raja continuously met with commitment and dedication.
