The diocese of Kottar may be a Registered establishment underneath the title ‘R.C. jurisdiction of Kottar”; Act twenty seven of 1975 learning Registration No. 8.7 of 1985 dated eleven.02.1985. in line with the Judgment granted by the Madras tribunal in 1975 it's a minority establishment with a right to run academic establishments.
The Bishop of Kottar is that the Head of this establishment. In his capability as Chairman, he establishes and administers academic furthermore as welfare work establishments within the jurisdiction. presently he administers primary, middle, high and better secondary colleges, besides administering the polytechnic institute and engineering schools. Considering the special wants of Kottar and Colachel Vicariates, he has step up to start out Bishop Agniswamy school of Education to meet the requirements for higher studies during this space.
Bishop Agniswamy school of Education was started on twenty eight.10.2005 with due recognition from NCTE (No.FTN/SEC/SRO/NCTE-2004-2005/322 dt.11-03-2005) and “No Objection” order from the government was obtained underneath No. TN Govt. Order G.O (MS) No.342 dated thirty.09.2005. the faculty was attached to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli (Order No. MSU/CD/Fresh/ Aff/2005-06 dt. 25.10.2005).
The Master Degree in Education (M.Ed.) was started on 12-10-2009 with due recognition from NCTE (No.F.SRO/NCTE/B.Ed/2008/5960 dt.08-10-2008) and attached to Tamil Nadu lecturers Education University, Madras (Order No. TNTEU/R/Affln/M.Ed(N)/2009-2010/734 dt.06-10-2009).
The college has been licensed with ‘B’ Grade by NAAC within the year 2013.
