Why Sivananda Yoga Vedanta?

The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers is a non-benefit association established by Swami Vishnudevananda, and named after his master Swami Sivananda, one of the most powerful otherworldly instructors of the twentieth century. Our central goal – to spread harmony, wellbeing and delight through yoga. All are welcome at our Ashrams and Centers.

In 1957, Swami Vishnudevananda on directions from his master Swami Sivananda, headed out toward the West to carry the lessons of yoga to the individuals. He built up the first Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Montreal, Canada in 1959 and there are currently near 60 Sivananda areas (Ashrams, City Centers and Affiliated Centers) the world over. Almost 50,000 educators have been prepared in our instructor instructional classes, spreading the lessons to each edge of the globe. The association is universally perceived for protecting the virtue of yoga and its old customs going back a few thousand years. We offer a wide scope of projects on the training, theory and brain research of yoga and reflection just as on an assortment of associated subjects including Ayurveda. The association is gone through our Karma Yoga Program in which members fill in as brief or full time staff.

Swami Vishnudevananda has made the yogic lessons open to all through straightforward yoga discipline, separating the training into effectively comprehended and handy five points ~ Proper Exercise (Asanas), Proper Breathing (Pranayama), Proper Relaxation (Savasana), Proper Diet (veggie lover), Positive Thinking (Vedanta) and Meditation (Dhyana). Together with Swami Sivananda's yoga of amalgamation, wherein the traditional Four Paths of Yoga (karma, bhakti, raja, jnana) are incorporated, a well-adjusted sadhana (profound practice) is feasible by those genuinely looking for change in their lives. We respect all.
