Why National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology?

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) was set up in the year 1982 by Govt. of India as a self-ruling body for facilitated development and improvement of friendliness the board instruction in the nation. 

At first, the Council was set up for the sake of National Board of Studies in Food Management, Catering and Nutrition under the regulatory control of Ministry of Agriculture (Deptt. Of Food) and in this manner it was moved to Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India in the year 1984 with renaming as National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology. The workplace of the Council is arranged at A-34, Sector-62, Noida (U.P.) in its very own structure though enrolled office is at Pusa, New Delhi. 

The Council directs scholastics in the field of Hospitality Education and preparing that is conferred at the 21 (twenty one) Central Govt. supported Institutes of Hotel Management, 25 (twenty five) State Govt. supported IHMs offering Degree level/Diploma/Craft Certificate level projects, 1 (one) PSU claimed Institute, 25 (twenty five) private Institutes and 14 (fourteen) Food Craft Institutes that capacity in various pieces of the nation. 

Through the Council, these organizations offer 11 (eleven) distinctive expert projects prompting grant of Certificate, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, Bachelor and Master Degree. (The last two projects are in a joint effort with Indira Gandhi National Open University).
