Named after one of the givers and Vice Presidents of the Vignana Jyothi Society, VNRVJIET tied down its association to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University(JNTUH), Hyderabad and was built up with the consent of The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Institute was agreed Autonomous status for a long time by University Grants Commission (UGC) from the year 2018-19 to 2017-28. The organization is NAAC authorize with "A++" Grade under self-ruling status.
