Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology, Vazhakulam was established in the year 2001 and is run by the Diocesan Technical Educational Trust under the aegis of the Syro Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Kothamangalam. As a professional educational institution, it has always strived to educate engineers and professionals to the next level through innovative activities. Students from all over Kerala and abroad seek admission here because of the excellent infrastructure, well experienced faculty, separate hostel facility for ladies and gents, internet connectivity and apt learning environment. Today, Viswajyothi College has grown in name and fame. We offer professional undergraduate programmes in eight engineering disciplines, and another undergraduate programme in Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Furthermore, we offer three postgraduate programmes in engineering disciplines, along with MBA. Presently, around 1800 students are enrolled in different courses. The college management is actively pursuing opportunities to establish new branches in emerging areas, aiming to equip students for the evolving needs of the current and future industry.

COMPUTING INFRASTRUCTURE - Viswajyothi has a central computing facility named as Common Computing Centre (CCC) functioning from 8AM to 8PM.

CENTRAL LIBRARY - The Central Library of the college was established in the year 2001.

TRANSPORTATION FACILITY - Viswajyothi is providing transportation facilities for staff and students. The college has total 18 Bus services to various places in Ernakulam, Idukki and Kottayam Districts. The college buses will reach the campus by 8.30 AM in the morning and leave the campus by 4.30 PM.

MEDICAL FACILITIES - Basic medical facilities for students and faculty are available in the campus from the Medical aid room. Medical aid room is located at an easily accessible location in the campus and is at C120 A, which is in the ground floor. Medical aid room is having wheel chair for movement of patients and other furniture required for physical examination of patients. Adequate medicines are also in stock in the medical, aid room. The college has tie up with St. George Hospital Vazhakulam and the hospital facilities in the campus are provided by them.

Gents Hostel - The College Hostel for Boys is owned and administered by the Diocesan Technical Education Trust. The hostel gives accommodation to the students and staff of Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology, Vazhakulam. It aims at the intellectual, cultural, moral, social, and spiritual development of the students. It is a formation house and cultural centre that provides calm and peaceful atmosphere for all the inmates to develop their personality. Reverend Fathers of the diocese of Kothamangalam are the wardens of the Hostel. Gents Hostel is situated within the campus and has a capacity to accommodate 350 students. The rooms in the hostel are spacious and furnished with most modern amenities. Rooms will be available to the students on three sharing, two sharing and two sharing bath attached basis. Each student will be provided a cot, a cupboard, a table, and a chair in their respective rooms. The hostel also provides a hygienic dining area, reading rooms, a chapel, a gym, and Wi-Fi internet facilities.

Ladies Hostel - The College Hostel for Girls is owned and administered by the Diocesan Technical Education Trust. The hostel gives accommodation to the students and staff of Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology, Vazhakulam. It aims at the intellectual, cultural, moral, social, and spiritual development of the students. It is a formation house and cultural centre that provides calm and peaceful atmosphere for all the inmates to develop their personality. Reverend Sisters of the Carmelite order of Pavanathma Province Kothamangalam are the wardens of the Hostel.

Placement Department is highly dynamic and has been efficient in placing students into profiles of their choice. The Placement Department is headed by the Placement Officer and ably supported by Assistant Placement Officer, Placement Executive Officer, staff and Student Coordinators.

Over 50 companies visit the campus every year for recruitment for B.Tech & MBA. Some of the B. Tech highest packages are offered by – Infosys, Incture,TCS,EY,Nissan,Experion,6D Technologies,Qbrust,Quest Global,Tech Mahindra,Envestnet,RDC Concrete ,South Indian Bank & Federal Bank.
