Sacred Heart College, Chalakudy, is a higher education institution managed by the Alvernia province of Franciscan Clarist congregation. The College, established in 1980, as a junior college with Pre-degree Programmes was upgraded to a first grade status in 1991 and is presently offering nine Under Graduate , eight Post Graduate Programmes and a five year Integrated Psychology Programme. Admission Process for Sacred Heart College

Candidates who have completed their 10 + 2 studies from a recognized board of education, under a relevant stream are eligible to apply for the Under Graduate courses at SHC.
Candidates who have completed their under graduate studies under a relevant field of study are eligible to apply for admission into the respective Post Graduate courses.
Holders of a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in a relevant field are eligible to apply for the respective Research programs.
Seats to the UG courses will be allotted be allotted purely on the basis of merit, based on performance in previous academics.
Seats to the PG and Research programs will be allotted based on performance in past academics, as well as performance in entrance examinations and personal interviews.
Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Kerala SC / ST category and SC / ST category.

Library

The college has a Spacious library with more than 24450 books and 70 journals/periodicals.

Laboratories

The college has labs that provide assistance in understanding concepts in Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry. The modern, well-equipped laboratories ensure that students have an exceptional and rewarding lab experience.

I.T Infrastructure

The College has two roomy Computer labs, one each for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Lab assists students in enhancing their chances of succeeding in technology-based classroom assignments.

Auditorium

The college has a spacious auditorium with good facilities and can accommodate a huge audience. A well-maintained main stage, mini-stage, and washing facility are part of the amenities provided.

The auditorium has an impressive audio and lighting system which are upgraded during special and important functions/events. The auditorium also serves as a venue for conducting big gatherings like meetings, sent-off functions, seminars, exhibitions, etc. Care is taken to ensure that the auditorium is clean and meets the standards of hygiene throughout the year.

Cafeteria

The staff and students of the college visit the canteen for refreshments. It is open from 8.15 AM and provides a rich variety of snacks, meals, and beverages at reasonable prices. The menu contains tasty dishes in both veg and non-veg. Special dishes are prepared during festive seasons (Onam, Diwali, etc.,) and special occasions ( seminar, workshops sports meet, etc.,
