The college was established on 1st August 2006 with a long history of struggle and initiative by the local people of Gazole Block, a Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe-dominated backward area. Since its inception, all those associated with the college believed that they had been entrusted with the task of nurturing a tender sapling and helping it grow to have strong roots. Proud of their mission as early pioneers, they worked with a single-minded devotion in setting the Gazole traditions. These attributes of total dedication have contributed in a large measure to the position of distinction occupied by Gazole Mahavidyalaya. Gazole Mahavidyalaya has grown from 146 students in 2006 to nearly 5000 students at present. It has been continuing to provide an atmosphere of high academic excellence and rich cultural activities for its students. It has established a niche for itself amongst the recognised premier institutions of higher learning in the district of Malda.
