Mar Augusthinose College had its inception in 1995 under the Management of St. Augustine’s Forane Church, Ramapuram and under the stewardship of Rev. Fr. Augustine Perumattam. The college has registered consistent growth during the able management of Rev. Fr. Cyriac Kunnel, Rev. Fr. Mathew Narivelil and Rev. Dr. George Njarakunnel. Ever since its inception, the institution has maintained high academic excellence, commitment to moral values, and single-minded devotion to the cause of higher education. The institution which started with only a few courses like BBA, BSc Electronics, BCA and BCom, has now grown into one of the most outstanding colleges in the self-financing sector of higher education with as many as ten undergraduate batches of diverse programmes like BCA (2 Batches) BSc Electronics, BSc Biotechnology, BBA (2 Batches), BCom (Co-operation 2 Batches), BCom (Finance & Taxation) and BA(English Literature & Communication Studies). The total strength of students has gone up to more than 1640 and 105 staff members from the meagre numbers in 1995. Seven Postgraduate programmes were also added to the range and depth of the academic life of this temple of learning.We have rich infrastructural facilities as well. Spacious class rooms equipped with modern teaching aids, state of the art laboratories for Computer Science , Electronics, Biotechnology and Language learning. Two Conference halls with all modern facilities and a library with more than 17000 titles are a few of the facilities available at the campus. The dedicated and committed services rendered by the teaching and non-teaching staff make the picture complete.The college has been the venue of many national seminars and state level exhibitions. The story goes back to 1997 when we organized an All India Science and Technology exhibition followed by national seminars in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics in the first decade of the present century.Prominent personalities who led the seminars and addressed public gatherings include the former President of India, Bharat Ratna Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam (Visited college on 26-11-2012), Former President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, former Defence Minister of India Sri A. Computer Laboratory
Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e resource center, which provides access to e resources among other things.
Library
Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.
Canteen
The College campus has a spacious and well ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.
Seminar Rooms
The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state of the art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.

Bachelor of Arts, popularly known as BA, is one of the most commonly opted courses. It is an undergraduate programme that can be completed after 10+2 in three years. Apart from obligatory studies, BA programmes are made up of several artistic fields and provide an array of subject combinations for candidates to choose from. The BA curriculum and subjects emphasise comprehension of different disciplines such as English, Psychology, History, Geography, and so on.Several specialisations are available in the BA programme and students can choose the one according to their area of interest.
