Established on 7th September 1959, Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College (ADP College) is located in Nagaon district of Assam. It was established in the hallowed memory of Anandaram Dhekial Phookan, the great litterateur of Assam of yesteryears; vide a resolution taken by Assam Sahitya Sabha in 1958. The college was established to cater immediate need of the learners from rural background with a vision of making itself a center of excellence by imparting quality education in both academics and co-curricular and spreading scientific temper among the upcoming generations. Starting as a night College, the college has now evolved into a full fledged day shift college offering all the streams-Arts, Science and Commerce.

Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College is affiliated to Gauhati University.The College was accredited by NAAC in 2004 for the first time and awarded B grade. In its 2nd accreditation by NAAC in 2015, the college was awarded A grade (CGPA 3.11) and in its 3rd accreditation in 2022, the college was awarded B++ grade (CGPA 2.94). The college has also been awarded with financial grant under the illustrious Star College Scheme, an initiative of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India.

At present the college is offering various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. The curricular aspects of the college is taken care by twenty-one departments viz. English, Assamese, Arabic, Sanskrit, Bengali, Hindi, Education, Economics, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Commerce, Computer Science,Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Statistics, and Herbal Science& Technology. The college also offers PG courses in Herbal Science and Technology (MSc), Assamese (MA) and History (MA).

Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College Placement

After sitting in the final semester exam i,e. 6th semester, the door of placement and campus interview has started. Generally, private sector companies came to our college.UBI banks, Axis Bank, Mahindra Finance, Hyundai motors are the main companies. Generally, the company provides a fixed pay of 30-40k with some percentage of profit if the employee helps the company to sell their products to the customer. More than 40% of students got selected by these companies and the rest 60% go for a higher course or for couching. I went to ITI Nagaon to complete a vocational course and I am studying it till now.

Sorry I don't have any idea about the company placements and all, because it's in a small district of Assam so I don't think that any companies comes for placements and all,if any companies comes also for placements I dnot know because it will be in the last semester.

Placement offers are amazing big companies are interested our college and they are giving good packages and big companies like hero and itc essar banks like bank of america and HDFC Bank etc are coming to our college.

No our college doesn't provide internships. Our college doesn't have placement or job opportunity either. But our teachers shows us the right path by which we can get our jobs in future. We are very thankful to them.

Placements and job opportunities are based on the students and their hard working and self belief. Our college provide us a good education towards our development of knowledge and personality. So it help everyone in future.
