This college was established in the name of Late Kameshwar Prasad Singh, by his only son Dr. Gauri Shanker Sharma as a response to the local need of higher educational institution. Kameshwar Prasad Singh popularly known as “DEPUTY SAHEB” was born in 1905 in a peasant family. Later in his life he joined freedom struggle and participated in the QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT, launched by Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1942. He was very close associate of Dr. Sri Krishna Singh, the first Chief Minister of Bihar. He also served as DEPUTY CHAIRMAN of Masaurhi Union Board.After independence from British Rule in 1947, he served as first elected head of Village Panchayat, Nadwan from 1952 to 1996. He also served as President of the Masaurhi Congress Committee from 1948 to 1962. As a head of Village Panchayat, he initiated and completed several developmental projects in the area. He established High School at his native village Nadwan. He left us on 18 th August 2001 and we always express our gratitude towards such a great soul whose moral strength still guide us to follow the correct path.This is a Co-educational institution presently imparting Degree level education to both Boys & Girls in 21 subjects of Arts and Science Faculties. The College is permanently affiliated Unit of the Patliputra University, Patna – 800020, Bihar. It is also registered U/S 2(f) and 12B by UGC, New-delhi.College provides students with quality educational experiences and support services that lead to the successful completion of degrees, transfer, certificates, career/technical education and basic skills proficiency. The college fosters academic and career success through the development of critical thinking, effective communication, creativity, and cultural awareness in a safe, accessible and affordable learning environment.College is driven to provide excellent educational opportunities that are responsive to the needs of our students, and empower them to meet and exceed challenges as active participants in shaping the future of our world.

Computer Laboratory

Considering today's need for computerization, our College is proud to have all the infrastructure facilities in certain faculties such as Commerce, Geography and Mathematics. These departments have their own computer laboratories with modern equipment and necessary software (Microsoft Office, Mathematica, Matlab, Latex, C++ software, etc.) to meet the needs of students. In addition, the library also has an e-resource center, which provides access to e-resources among other things.

Library

Shahid Bhagat Singh College has a fully computerized barcode library. The library has a computer lending system with barcodes. We have two computers dedicated to OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) book searches. This collection is enriched by his over 86,796 books on various research fields. The library also subscribes to over 100 of his periodicals in various fields (national and international, specifically Harvard Business Review, The Economist, etc.). The library also has a small computer lab for accessing electronic resources subscribed to by the College of Delhi through the College's intranet and the Internet. The Library also holds orientation programs from time to time and provides orientation in electronic resources for accessing bibliographic databases and full-text databases available through the College's intranet and the INFLIBNET Consortium and Information Literacy Program. Students are encouraged to inquire about various library services with Dr. Puja Anand Gulati, Librarian.

Canteen

The College campus has a spacious and well-ventilated canteen building with ample seating, separate from the academic blocks. We provide students and faculty with a variety of snacks, food, tea, coffee, and other beverages at low prices. The canteen committee monitors food quality, care and hygiene. A proposal to renovate the cafeteria was recently approved by the Building Committee and Board of Directors.

Seminar Rooms

The College has two seminar rooms equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The College organizes seminars, workshops and lectures with the active participation of students and teachers. Prominent scientists and experts from academic and business organizations are invited to interact with students and give lectures.
