Established in 1887 by the amalgamation of Hyderabad School and the Madarsa-i-Aliya, Nizam College is one of the oldest and most esteemed institutions of higher education in South India. It was affiliated to the University of Madras for 60 years after its inception, and was made a Constituent College of Osmania University on 19th February 1947.Nizam College offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce and Sciences in addition to professional courses such as MBA, MCA, M.Sc.(IS) and BCA. Several of our students are also pursuing doctoral and postdoctoral research. The college received the status of the College with Potential for Excellence both under the X Plan and the XI Plan period. The College is accredited by NAAC in March 2019 with 'B++' grade with a CGPA of 2.92.The Placement Centre organises on-campus recruitments involving industries and MNC's like Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Satyam, Nipuna, GE, etc. totaling to more than 25 to 50 reputed companies visit the college every year. Students come from a wide range of social status and different regions which creates a healthy atmosphere and an ambience of a global community with rich cultural exchange.

FOOD PRODUCTION
This department grooms students in culinary arts to master their skill in Food Production operations. Students learn the preliminary cooking techniques in the Basic Training Kitchen and then they are trained in bulk cookery in the Quantity Training Kitchen.In the final year the students are groomed to be a seasoned chef through extensive practical sessions in the Advanced Training Kitchen.
FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE
This department trains the students in fine dining service skills and also to a wide spectrum of mixology, where hands on training are imparted to develop managerial skills for restaurant and elite event operations.
FRONT OFFICE
“First impression is the Best impression” is the key motto of training for the Front Office department. This subject educates the students in reception skills for guest handling procedure and also teaches the core of business operation and profitability through training in Sales & Marketing and Revenue Management.
HOUSE KEEPING
The upkeep of an organization is the essence of a successful business, which is a major scope of this department. This department also imparts knowledge and skills in interior decoration and also adds value to the acquaintance and use of eco friendly products in the hospitality industry.
COMPUTER EDUCATION
To groom the students in technological skills, the college has a dedicated computer lab where the students are taught the nitty-gritty of computerized hotel operation & related software.
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS
The language lab is a one stop solution for students to upgrade their communication skills. The basics of language fluency with confidence in expressing self is taught here.
