P.K.R. Arts College for Women, affiliated to Bharathiar University is an unaided Autonomous Arts and Science college. It had been founded with a vision to empower rural women and has been managed by Dhandapani Rural Charitable Trust since 1994. The college is located in a beautiful locale, surrounded by hillocks and green fields providing a serene and pleasant atmosphere for learning. The college is dedicated to the everlasting memory of late Thiru. Kalimudhaliar, who had the noble vision of educating the masses. Unfortunately, he was not able to realise his dream during his life- time and the responsibility had passed on to his grandson, late Thiru P.R. Natarajan, founder Correspondent of this college. Inspired by his grandfather’s ideals, he dedicated his life to enlighten the rural women by starting a women’s college on the name of his father Late Thiru.P.K. Ramasamy and this college was born of such a consistent effort to realise the vision of Late Thiru Kalimudhaliar and christened as P.K.R. Arts College for Women.The Management’s tireless efforts have resulted in getting affiliation for more number of new courses every year.

PKR Arts College for Women launched the Placement cell in 1993. This cell aims at providing guidance and counseling to the students regarding various traditional and job oriented courses, different kinds of competitive examinations, identifying job opportunities in the current market trend and employability in public and private sectors.The Placement Cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Under Graduates and Post Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates round the year to facilitate contacts between employer and graduates. Free coaching for Banking Service Recruitment examination and IAS exams are being conducted regularly. Materials for competitive exams and model questions with answers are provided. The Placement Cell also organizes career guidance programmes for all the students since first year. The cell also arranges training programmes like mock interviews, group discussions, communication skills workshop and training on how to succeed in interviews for our students so that their self- respect may be brought to the front line among all.
